Children can use the 125 magnetic track and building components to create roads, curves, ramps, bridges, and elevated courses for the 3 light-up cars. They can begin with a simple floor track, follow a guided design, or arrange the pieces into an original route with street signs and raised sections.

As children become familiar with the connections, they can use the 31 supporting columns and 6 slopes to create taller and more detailed courses. Each new layout gives them opportunities to reposition track pieces, adjust turns, strengthen elevated sections, and test whether the cars can travel smoothly from beginning to end.

The moving cars add action to imaginative play. Children can organize races, create roadway stories, assign destinations, or design challenges around bridges and curves. When a section does not work as planned, they can identify the problem, move a support, reconnect the track, and try the course again. This process supports patience, hand-eye coordination, fine motor development, and early problem-solving.

Children can build independently or work with siblings, friends, parents, and caregivers. Shared construction encourages communication, cooperation, and decisions about where each section should go. Builders can also combine the set with other full-sized PicassoTiles collections to extend the roadway or add larger surrounding structures.

Immersive STEM Learning Experience: The PicassoTiles PTR128 introduces motion, direction, balance, engineering, and cause and effect through hands-on racetrack construction. Children plan a route, connect the magnetic pieces, run the 3 LED cars, and observe how their design performs.

Curves and slopes allow builders to explore how a vehicle changes direction and moves through different track sections. Elevated roads demonstrate why supporting columns must be positioned carefully. Children can compare layouts, predict how a car will travel, and observe how adjusting 1 section affects the complete course.

Engineering skills develop as children create a stable structure and connect roads from beginning to end. If a car cannot move through a section as expected, builders can identify the problem, reposition the track or supports, and test another solution. This build, test, and improve cycle encourages critical thinking and persistence.

Mathematical thinking is supported through shapes, patterns, counting, height, sequencing, and spatial relationships. Children can organize components in a logical order, compare track lengths, and decide where each tile, column, slope, turn, and sign should be placed.
